In 1989 my college basketball career was over. I had been invited to a "free agent" try-out with the CBA's Rockford Lightning and made it to the final cut. The coach at the time was Steve Yates and he said if I was 6'10" I would be making $1,000,000 a year in the NBA. I said: "I'm 6'4" I'll take $500,000." He told me to get the f out of his office and I had to find a job. So I relied on my "journalism" experience that I gained as a writer and editor on THE PROMETHEAN, where I wrote a column: "The Way I See It."
